About

Hi everybody! My name is Katherine Schultz. I am an aspiring wildlife biologist and conservationist.

I was born in Balcarce, Argentina but I have spent most of my life in the great state of Florida. I grew up with a fascination about nature and all things wild. My parents fostered this fascination with frequent trips to natural areas, the library (for animal books), and a healthy dose of Animal Planet Shows (especially Steve Irwin’s). Along with my love for wildlife, my parents also encouraged green practices in our home, including composting and, of course, reusable grocery bags.

Upon graduating high school, I attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL (Go Gators!). I received a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation as part of the class of 2019. Since graduating, I have gone on to be an intern with the Habitat and Species Conservation section of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and an animal caretaker at the Calusa Nature Center.

I hope you’ll join me in my journey to becoming a fully-fledged (get it? bird joke haha) wildlife biologist and come along as I learn about sustainable living practices. As we learn together we can even share in a few fun adventures!

Come with me as I explore our wild universe!
